2G-friendly Facebook lite app in Android phone.

The social networking giant has now launched Facebook lite in India and the Philippines, with more markets set to follow over the coming weeks and months.Coming in at just 430KB, Facebook Lite is designed to be data-efficient, with the app offering a user experience similar to that of the full-fledged client on devices with low resources and intermittent data connectivity

All devices running Android 2.2 and higher are supported.

The app features a simplified user interface consisting of the News Feed, status updates, push notifications and messages, with the content optimized by Facebook's servers to load faster on 2G networks. Facebook mentions that video will be added at a later date.
